The Source Skin Care News: Happy Holidays!; Retinols in Winter, Baby News
December 24, 2010
Happy Holidays! Here's to A Great 2011
Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, or just love the spirit of the season...we wish you the happiest of holidays and a joyous 2011: its our resolution to make 2011 the best ever!? What are your resolutions (or do you skip those ;)?)
Retinol: Winter is the Time!We constantly hear about the benefits of retinols for skin...but the BEST time to be using retinol based products, in our opinion, is during the winter months, because the problem of over-exposure to sunlight and over sensitivity to the skin is lessened.
Retinol A Creams such as the Atache Wrinkle Attack Night Cream are derived from the whole vitamin A molecule. Retinol treatments are some of the most researched and beneficial for the skin in an anti-aging regimen, because retinol has been shown to be able to be penetrate deeply into the skin.
The bad news is that this product has been unavailable in the United States for about 6 months due to its high content of retinol and FDA oversight....the GOOD news, however, is that all the retinol products: Day Cream, Night Cream, Serum Pearls and Eye Cream are NOW AVAILABLE!! Winter is the best time for using retinols on the skin, because less sun allows for the skin to avoid the damage that retinol use in the summer causes.
In my (Nicole's) opinion, these are the BEST retinol products for the price to be found in the skincare market. From now until January 15, use code RETINOL20 at checkout to receive a 20% off discount on all Atache Retinol Products!

Skincare Myths Series: How You Exfoliate Your Skin - Does it Matter? In our Top 10 Skincare Myths Series, we talk about some of the most commonly held beliefs about skin care.
When it comes to exfoliation, people tend to either not do it at all, or they OVER-do it. For those that don't do it, I say: how can you expect your skincare products to properly work if you have a bunch of dead skin laying on top? Your skincare isn't going to break through that easily. Help it! Exfoliate!
Then there are those that overdo it. I constantly get messages from people that have used a product that has completely sensitized their skin, broken it out, or made it rough, dry and patchy. Guess what? When this happens, you've gone too far. Either the product or the method isn't right for your skin.
Learn about how exfoliation DOES matter in keeping skin clear, bright, and smooth...but how OVER-exfoliation can actually accelerate the aging process:

Personal News: Baby Boy is HERE!From Nicole:
One of the greatest things about my business is the amazing customers I have...so many of you, even those that I haven't met face to face, I consider friends.
So, I just wanted to share with you...baby Marek has arrived--finally! Over a week late, the stubborn (takes after his momma??) boy is a beautiful, healthy, amazing addition to our little family. He weighed in at a healthy 8 lbs 15 oz and 22 3/4 inches long. After a long and unproductive labor, Mom had to have a C section...which is why we've been pretty quiet this month.
Thanks so much for your support and understanding during this crazy pregnancy...you all are the BEST!
