I have been playing around with some of the new fall nail colors. Its interesting to find that many of the collections out there are heavily frosty-glittery, with everyone carrying some shade of green and/or teal, plus new twists on your basic black. I thought I would quickly share some of my favorites with you:Essie Sew Psyched: A cashmere creme, soft sage pewter (LOVE!)
Essie Little Brown Dress: They call it "beguiling black coffee": I call it super-dark brown :). Either way, a great alternative to basic black...but totally can be worn with black, IMO. It is a creme, non-frost, gloss.
OPI Swiss Fall Collection: Overall, not in love with this collection, waaaay too frosty and glittery for me. Must mean I'm getting old. Anyway, I do like a couple here:
OPI Diva Of Geneva: Lighter application than it looks in the bottle, this is a deep, raspberry-gold shimmer when applied. Super pretty.
OPI Lucerne-tainly Look Marvelous: Definitely my favorite in this collection, a glamorous green-grey shimmery graphite. A great way to look trendy with a "neutral"!
Spa Parties: September 16 & 21
I've never done this before...so take note: I am throwing a “Thank You” Fall Spa Party at my house on two different dates in September…this special event is FREE but I can only fit in 12 people per party, so I ask that you RSVP as soon as possible. Local Customers: We're Still in Business!
As most of you know, I am now 6 ½ months pregnant with my first child. This has forced me to re-evaluate my decision making as to the business, and to consider opportunities that I haven’t been able to before. I have worked hard in the last year to make this business a success; thanks to all of you, it has happened!That being said, the downtown Milford store location will be closed as of Sunday, August 29… but let me be clear: WE ARE STAYING IN BUSINESS!
So what are we going to do? Well, first of all, our online store has been tremendously successful and will continue with all the products that you know and love, plus we will continuously be providing new ones as we find things we believe are worthy of your skin.
Shipping is always FREE with orders over $50; and for those of you that live in the local area, you may always come by my home office (which is in Milford) to pick them up, or I am happy to deliver products when possible. Just give me a call! Want to come over and try stuff like you do at the store? Just give me a call! Its never a problem.
Luckily my home office is a completely separate, and pretty large, space that I can dedicate solely to the business, so we plan on doing several special events such as spa parties there, plus Diana will continue to provide her excellent services such as facials, massage, waxing, body exfoliation, etc. In fact, we will be able to expand our personal service offerings as the space is much better suited to this than our current one (which, unfortunately, as great as it is location-wise, isn’t ideal for us at all).
Additionally, we will be participating in major health and beauty events throughout Michigan (such as at the Rock Financial Showplace) and other states. All of this will, of course, be announced as soon as it is known to us.
Ultimately, this is a bittersweet decision on my part. While I absolutely know that the business will continue to grow through the many different paths we are going to be taking, I will miss everyone popping into the store to visit, laugh, and relax with us. Really, though—we aren’t going anywhere—just a few miles down the road!
